"...the Cave Singers' mild, moseying tunes aren't without their minor charms, and they're unfailingly good at conjuring images of wide-open fields and dust-caked lanes, but nobody wants to walk down the same road all the time if they can help it." - Pitchfork.com
I thought id search the band just to hear what pitchfork had to say about one of my favourites. And after reading the review I was pretty disappointed. The excerpt i chose is the most flattering part of the review, and thats not saying a lot. While they are right in saying that alot of there songs are similar, i simply cant see how walking down that 'road' - the Cave singer road - could ever get old. Their songs flood you with images of sunny wheat fields, setting suns, warm summer nights and could inspire anyone to drive cross country playing only them (doesn't that just make you feel warm and cudly on the inside?). And for a song/band to do that on a consistent basis (some would say repetitive. I would have to disagree) is nothing short of perfection. Now before i get too sentimental about the whole thing, I would just like to say that i have written this to come to the defence of great band. Who have found a permanent place in my heart. 10/10
